Addressing One's Relatives
Relatives on the father's side ***SAME Last Name.
grandfather:
【yé-ye 】爷爷 (daily calling)
【zǔ-fù】祖父 (use it in writing letter)
grandmother:
【nǎi-nai】奶奶 (daily calling)
【zǔ-mǔ】祖母 (use it in writing letter)
uncle:
Someone not your family member but so close to your parents.
You can call them uncle too. (伯伯【bó-bo】which is older than your dad ,叔叔【shū-shu】which is younger than your dad )and call his wife aunt :伯母【bó-mǔ】which is older than your mother 【婶婶shěn-shen】which is younger than your mother.
But you never call them 舅舅 【jiù-jiu】

wife of father's elder brother
【bó-mǔ】伯母
wife father's younger brother
【shěn-shen】婶婶
father's sister:
【gū-gu】姑姑
【gū-mā】姑妈
husband of father's sister:
【gū-fù】姑父
【gū-zhàng】姑丈
Cousins:
Add 堂【táng】 in front of each of them.
堂 【táng】means they have the same last name with you
Boy older than you :【táng-gē】堂哥=【táng xiōng】 堂兄
Girl older than you :【táng-jiě】堂姐
Boy younger than you :【táng-dì】堂弟
Girl younger than you :【táng-mèi】堂妹
brother's son :【zhí-zi】侄子
brother's daughter :【zhí-nǚ】侄女

Relatives on the mother's side
{ 外[wài] means outside = diffident last name means outsider.}
grandfather:
外公 【wài-gōng】 (daily calling)
外祖父【wài-zǔ-fù】 (use at writing letter)
grandmother:
外婆 【wài-pó】 (daily calling)
外祖母【wài-zǔ-mǔ】 (use at writing letter)
姥姥【lǎo-lao 】(some area people use it --that means female old people )
mother's brother:
wife of mother's brother:舅舅 【jiù-jiu】
You can call by number
1st uncle, 大舅【dà-jiù】
2nd uncle,二舅【er̀-jiù】
3rd uncle,三舅【sān-jiù】
or call by
Older uncle, 大舅舅 【dà jiù-jiu】
younger uncle:小舅舅 【xǐao jiù-jiu】
Mother's sister
阿姨 【ā-yí】 ( in China, sometime they call the clearn-up lady 阿姨 【ā-yí】)
姨妈【yí-mā】
husband of mother's sister:
姨父【yí-fù】
姨丈【yí-zhàng】
Cousins :
Add 表[biǎo] in front of each of them.
That means their last name is not the same of yours.
Boy older than you:表哥 【biǎo-gē】= 表兄【biǎo-xiōng】
His wife: 表嫂【biǎo-sǎo】
Girl older than you: 表姐【biǎo-jiě】
her husband :表姐夫【biǎo-jiě-fu】
Boy younger than you: 表弟【biǎo-dì】
His wife :表弟妹【biǎo-dì-meì】
girl younger than you: 表妹【biǎo-meì】
Her husband: 表妹夫【biǎo-meì-fu】
